On-Device Data

All files & settings stay on your hardware.

ZexDeck is made by Divyanshu Lakra (Prezext). This policy explains what the ZexDeck Android app does with your information.

In short: ZexDeck does not collect, send or sell any of your data. The app has no internet access, no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting. Everything it keeps stays on your phone.

What stays on your phone

To work, ZexDeck saves these things in its own private storage on your phone:

  • Your layouts: the macros you make, their names, colours and shortcuts.
  • Your settings, such as macro style, vibration and spacing.
  • Images you add to macros. ZexDeck only sees the images you pick in the Android photo picker, and keeps its own copy of each one. It can’t see the rest of your photos.
  • The last device you connected to (its Bluetooth address), so ZexDeck can reconnect to it.

None of this leaves your phone through ZexDeck. If Android backup is turned on for your phone, Android may include ZexDeck’s data in your own Google backup, like it does for other apps. You control this in your phone’s settings.

Text you type in the keyboard screen is sent straight to your connected device and isn’t saved.

Bluetooth and the permissions ZexDeck asks for

ZexDeck connects to your tablet or computer as a Bluetooth keyboard. The keys you press go only to the device you connected to, over Bluetooth.

  • Nearby devices (Bluetooth): to find, pair and connect to your tablet or computer, and to send it key presses. ZexDeck shows the names of nearby Bluetooth devices so you can pick one. It doesn’t save or share that list.
  • Location (only on Android 11 and older): older versions of Android require this permission to search for Bluetooth devices. ZexDeck never reads your location.
  • Notifications: to show that ZexDeck is connected while it runs in the background.

Sharing layouts

If you choose to share a layout, ZexDeck makes a .keyset file with that layout and its images, and hands it to the app you pick (for example, a messaging app). That app’s own privacy policy then applies. ZexDeck never shares anything unless you ask it to.

Deleting your data

You can delete layouts and images inside the app. To remove everything, clear ZexDeck’s storage in your phone’s settings, or uninstall the app.

Children

ZexDeck doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
